The Chesterton 329 Stern-Lon Flax Packing is square-plait braided to provide a flexible, formable packing. The base fiber in Stern-Lon is a high quality long-fibered, roved flax. The packing is graphite-free to avoid galvanic corrosion on shafts. 329 Stern-Lon is impregnated with concentrated PTFE dispersion to promote non-flowing lubricity and reduce/slow degradation.
